Rayner, a UK-headquartered manufacturer of ophthalmic medical products, has acquired Swiss-based This AG, the developer and manufacturer of Sophi phaco emulsification machines.

The acquisition marks a new chapter for Rayner, the only manufacturer of intraocular lenses (IOL) in the UK, as it branches out to include phaco technology as part of its extensive product portfolio.
