Germany’s latest Unesco World Heritage Sites: Travel Weekly

Germany has two new sites on the Unesco World Heritage List — the Residence Ensemble Schwerin and the Saxon settlements of the Herrnhuter Brudergemeine.

The additions bring Germany’s total of Unesco World Heritage sites to 54, making it the country with the third-highest number of Unesco sites worldwide after Italy and China. 

The Residence Ensemble Schwerin highlights the court culture of the 19th century with a grand palace surrounded by picturesque lakes, a court theater, a museum and various administrative buildings.
